In this post, we’ll be walking you through everything you’ll need to know about a Singapore PR (permanent residence) application. As such, the documents we’ll be talking about are the ones you’ll have to submit with the help of your Singapore PR application agency.
So what documents should you include in your application for the much-needed Singapore PR grant?
1. Digital Passport-Sized Photograph
- Size: The PR application form requires you to attach your digital passport sized photograph – 35mm wide by 45mm long with no border around it. When scanned and submitted to the e-PR system as a digital image file, it must be 400 by 514 pixels in size, no more than 1MB in size, and in either JPG or JPEG format.
- Specs: Make sure its finish is matt or semi-matt.
- Resolution: Use a camera with high-quality resolution. It should be at least 2.0 megapixels.
- Setting: Ensure to take a picture in a well-lit area, with a white background. You should be positioned at the middle of the frame. Your face should be visible enough, with eyes open in full view and a neutral expression. Strictly no editing of facial features.
2. Identification documents
All PR applicants and sponsors should supply the following relevant documents that will support your identity:
- Identity card: Applicable only for countries that require its citizens for Identification Cards.
- Deed poll/Change of name certificate: Applicable only for PR hopefuls whose names appear differently on other documents.
- Birth Certificate or Family Register or Household Census: All applicants must submit copies of these documents.
3. Travel documents and immigration passes
All applicants and sponsors must upload copies of travel documents and immigration passes. This includes a scanned copy of bio-data page of your passport where it shows your personal details, such as your name and passport number, and any other official description. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. In cases where documents are not written in English, support your papers with notarised translations.
Moreover, only one among these immigration passes is required:
- Employment Pass
- Personalised Employment Pass
- S Pass
- Entrepreneur Pass
- Short Term Visit Pass (STVP)
- Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP)
- Student’s Pass
- Dependent’s Pass
4. Educational certificates and qualifications
Only the following applicants are required to submit All Tertiary Certificates and All Tertiary Transcripts.
- Spouse of current Singapore PR (SPR) or Singapore Citizen (SC)
- Children of current SPR or SC
- Employment Pass and S Pass holders under the PTS scheme
- International Student(Student Pass holder)
- Foreign Investors under the Global Investor Programme (GIP) scheme
Professional licences, Membership certificates or vocational trade certificates
In order for ICA to further assess the skills of applicants that would benefit Singapore, students and all PR applicants under the PTS and GIP schemes must upload copies of any professional licences, membership certificates or vocational trade certificates that they receive. This is not applicable for spouses and children of current PRs and SCs, as well as aged parents of current SCs.
5. Current employment paperwork
Generally, applicants and sponsors who are currently employed must provide documents that declare their current employment status. That includes the consent forms from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and Central Provident Fund (CPF) board.
If you apply under the PTS scheme, you may include any feedback that you may have obtained from previous employers. If you are self-employed, you must provide your Valid Business Registration Certificate that also includes the names of your partners as well as occupational licence (depending on the type of occupational license that you are holding).
For those employed, you must furnish copies of your payslips for the last six months as well as employer’s certification, dated within a month of the application, stating the current position held, date of employment, and detailed breakdown of payslip which encompass the basic salary, allowance, and overtime work.
